QR Codes in Front Page Advertising

They seem to be everywhere and advertisers are using Quick Response (QR) codes or two-dimensional barcodes to create an interactive experience with consumers while capturing data and feedback on the advertisement.

Using a smart phone, the consumer scans the QR code with their cell phone linking to a website, coupons, videos or other content the advertiser wants the consumer to see to help drive sales or brand awareness.

QR Code technology can be tracked and analyzed providing advertisers with a better return on investment, while providing consumers with a more information or deals on a product or service without being bombarded by advertising.  

Here are some examples of how advertisers are using QR Codes:

  • Coupons - printable online coupon that incents consumer to try your brand.
  • Website - links to your home page or a landing page with content that converts consumer to a lead.
  • Videos - watch a video that describes your product or service.
  • Email - launches the email application to allow consumers to respond to your promotion via email.
  • Phone Numbers - displays your phone number for consumers to respond to your promotion by phone.
